STEAM at Somis

At Somis School, students explore science, technology, engineering, agriculture, the arts, and mathematics through hands-on learning. Our agricultural community provides a natural starting point for questions about how ideas move from the field to everyday life.
Students investigate, design, build, test, and revise. These experiences connect classroom learning to real-world problems and help students practice creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication.
Learning together
STEAM belongs to every student. Teachers connect subjects across the curriculum and create opportunities for students to explain their thinking, learn from mistakes, and show what they know in different ways. Hands-on projects also give multilingual learners meaningful ways to participate and build academic language.
Families are part of the learning community, too. We value opportunities to explore together and help young people see themselves as curious, capable problem-solvers.
